Halloween Party

Children's Halloween Party Set for Oct. 23

Rodman Public Library’s popular children’s Halloween party will be held Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library. Open to families with children of all ages, the fun will include stories, treats and games. A “photo booth” will be provided for parents to take pictures of their little ones, so don’t forget to bring your phone or your camera. Costumes are not mandatory, but they are encouraged. Yarn Monster

Make a Yarn Monster At Kids Crafting

Children, ages 7-12, are invited to the Rodman Public Library at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7 for the monthly kids crafting program. For the October craft, kids will make a Yarn Monster. Space is limited to 20 participants and registration is required by visiting our online calendar by calling the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223. This program is supported by Friends of Rodman Library.

Pumpkin Painting

Paint Pumpkins at RPL Branch 

Area children are invited to a family pumpkin painting event at the Rodman Branch Library on Oct. 16. Children can visit the Branch Library on that day between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. to pick out a pumpkin and paint it during the make and take activity. The library will provide the pumpkins, paint and other decorations for the kids to use. For more information, call 330-821-1313. This program is supported by Friends of Rodman Library.

Scarecrow Take and Make

Scarecrow Craft Take and Make 

Starting Friday, Oct. 1, kids can stop by the Rodman Branch Library to pick up a scarecrow take and make craft. All supplies for the craft will be included as well as step-by-step instructions. Supplies are limited and will be given out at a first come, first served basis. For more information, call 330-821-1313. Take and Make crafts are supported by Friends of Rodman Library.

Hedgehog

Hot Pots Storytime

The Rodman Public Library Branch will host Hot Pots Storytime for children ages 3-12 at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13 and at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16. Attendees will listen to a story at the Branch Library and then visit Hot Pots to paint hedgehog ceramic figurine. The cost is $12 and patrons must register with Hot Pots by calling 330-823-3333. Malcolm at Midnight

Kids Book Club

Rodman Public Library invites children, ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club, which will meet on the third Wednesday of each month. The Oct. 20 selection will be Malcolm at Midnight by W.H. Beck. Kids Gaming

Rodman Public Library invites children, ages 8-12, to Kids Gaming every first Wednesday of each month at the Main Library Auditorium. From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., children will be treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library. The next session is Wednseady, Oct. 6. Wee Read

Wee Read

Wee Read sessions will be held on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. during October. Children, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend. Wee Read includes stories, fingerplays, music and movement. For more information, call the Main Library Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223. 

Family Fun Night

Family Fun Night

Each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. during October, parents or caregivers are invited to participate in an entertaining evening with their children in Rodman Main Children’s Department. For children ages 3 to 5, Storytime will offer music, interaction and stories. During this same time, all school-aged children will share in their own fun activities that are based on the STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math) program. Storytime

Children, ages 3-5, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend Storytime sessions each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library and each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. as part of Family Fun Night. Storytime is intended to encourage lifelong readers through stories, music, movement and activities. For more information, contact the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.
