Thursday, July 14, 7:00 pm with Ardis Cameron, Author of Unbuttoning America
The library will host a Peyton Place Retrospective, with film clips, a speaker, and audience participation, in anticipation of the “new” release of the refurbished Peyton Place movie. The Library will offer a selection of images and scenes from the movie as filmed in Camden in 1957 on Thursday evening, July 14. Author Ardis Cameron will present her “biography” of Peyton Place, Unbuttoning America, at the Retrospective. She will offer some remarks about the tremendous popularity and impact that the book and movie first had. We are hoping that anyone familiar with the movie will join us with stories about the filming. We know there are several characters still in town who played extras in making the movie in 1957!
