International Games Week
Super Smash and Mario Kart Video Game Tournament

Saturday, November 9
1:00 - 4:00 pm

Want to test your skills in Smash Ultimate or Master the blue shell in Mario Kart 8 but the tournament is too far away?  Then Sign up for the MAPLD 1st Annual Video Game Tournament!  Sign up is for AGES 13-25 ONLY.  Everything is free and you will have a chance to win prizes!  Not feeling up competitive or just want to play casually with friends? No problem, we have free play games, like Super Mario or Kingdom Hearts 3, and various card games too!

PJ Storytime

Ages: 3-6
Wednesdays from 7 - 7:30 pm

No registration required. 

Every Wednesday night is pajama storytime! Kids can come in their pajamas, bring blankets and enjoy stories and songs before bedtime.

 

Play Cafe

Ages: 3-5
Thursdays from 11 am- 12 pm
No registration required. 

Drop in for stories, music, toys, and centers. Children will learn while having fun and making new friends.

 

Born To Read Storytime

Babies and Toddlers Ages: 0-2
Tuesdays 10 - 11 am
No registration required. 

Story times for our littlest patrons are filled with rhymes, movement activities, songs, finger plays and books.

 

K-2 Club

Grades: K - 2nd

Reading Club

Age: Any Child Too Young for Kindergarten

Register in Youth Services Department.

Reading to preschool aged children builds vocabulary, language skills, and helps prepare them with the skills needed for future school and life success.   
Participants will receive a reading log to record books read.  Rewards will be given for every 100 books read. Ask for your reading log at the Kids’ Room Desk.

3-4-5 Fun

Grades: 3rd - 5th

Come join us for all sorts of fun, from arts and crafts to playing games to STEM experiments.  Each month will be a different activity. If you are also a member of Book Scouts, you can earn an exclusive Book Scout badge for attending.  

 

Crazy 8s Math Club

Grades: 3rd - 5th

Crazy 8s is an over-the-top recreational after-school club that gets kids excited about math. You'll build glow-in-the-dark structures, crack secret spy codes and play get-up-and-move games like Toilet Paper Olympics.

 

I Brother II Another

Boys Ages: 10 - 15
Tuesdays & Thursdays
from 4:30 - 6:00 pm

No registration required.  

Mentors in this this program will provide positive programming for boys.  The program provides educational and recreation experiences through positive peer mentoring, life skills development, and positive social interaction.  

 

Book Scouts

Book Scouts is a year-round program for 3rd - 5th graders where kids work at their own pace on their own time to complete reading-based Book Scout Challenges to earn a wide variety of Book Badges they can also earn exclusive Book Badges when they attend these programs: Junior Puppeteers, 3-4-5 Fun, Crazy 8s Math Club

The Art Academy

Grades: 6th - 12th

Have you ever wanted to learn how to spray paint? How about creating a 3D piece for your Halloween costume? Come Join the Art Factory!  We will teach you how to become an artist and create fascinating artwork to show off to your friends and family!

Girls With Dreams

Girls Ages: 13 - 19

This mentoring program is designed to empower and build positive selfesteem in young ladies. Mentors will work with girls on relationship building, developing a positive selfimage, conflict resolution and a host of teambuilding activities.

Fashion Academy

Grades: 6th - 12th
1st and 3rd Monday, 11/4 & 11/18 from 6 - 8 pm
No registration required.  

Learn to design clothing from your imagination, followed by a series of simple sewing projects. No experience sewing is required. Participants will need to provide their own fabric for projects and a few basic supplies. The library provides sewing machines, thread, and more.

Come join us for fun playing a wide-variety of different strategy-themed board games such as Chess, Settlers of Catan, Dwarven Miners, and more. 

 
 

Basic Chess Lessons

Grades: 1 - Adult
Saturday, 10/26 from 10 - 11 am

No registration required.  

If would like to learn how to play chess, Mr. Joseph will teach you the basics of the game.

We invite you to fill out our information forms.  
Homeschoolers: Your form will be used to keep you informed of library events that might interest your family.
Tutors: Your form will be used to provide information to library patrons who request to know about local area tutors.
