Mini Music MakersMini Music Makers is a weekly 45-minute music session
giving you and your child the opportunity to make and enjoy music together in
a fun and friendly setting.

Little Explorers - Full STEAM ahead! We will be exploring different elements of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math by using all of the early literacy tools
from print motivation to hands-on sensory experience and play. Parental participation is
highly encouraged.

Storycise - Storyteller Dot will present “Storycise,” a combination of storytelling, dance, yoga, comedy, and exercise for children. This playful workout encourages children to use their bodies, voices, and imagination to dance through stories, developing cardiovascular stamina, strength, balance, literacy, and a lifelong love of movement.

 

Storytime In The Park

Preschoolers
Thursdays, from 10-11 AM at Woodgate Park

Fridays, from 9 - 9:30 AM & 10:30-11 AM
at Allemong and Memorial Park 

No Registration Required.

Join Ms. Susan and Mr. Joseph for a weekly half hour of stories, songs, games, puppets, and more at the park! Storytime will be cancelled if it is raining, but will go on as planned if the ground is wet/damp from rain prior to the show.

 

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Reading Club

Age: Any Child Too Young for Kindergarten

Register in Youth Services Department.

Reading to preschool aged children builds vocabulary, language skills, and helps prepare them with the skills needed for future school and life success.   
Participants will receive a reading log to record books read.  Rewards will be given for every 100 books read. Ask for your reading log at the Kids’ Room Desk.

Reading To Andrew The Collie - Elementary students improve their reading skills by signing up to read to Andrew the Collie, a certified therapy dog. This is also a great chance to get more comfortable around dogs. Space is limited. Each child has a 10 minute turn – time slots are assigned upon arrival.

Summer Fun

Join Mr. Alex behind the library for fun activities such as Frisbees and Capture the Flag. 

 

Role-Playing Games

Grades: 7th to 12th
Tuesdays: 7/10-7/24 from 3 - 4:30 PM 
No registration required.  

Come have fun taking on the roles of adventurers like wizards and warriors in a game where you combine your character’s skills and strengths with the luck of the roll of the dice to fight off monsters, search for treasures, and more!

 

Movie Day @ Your Library

Join us for a fun family-friendly event with lots of games, crafts, and activities. Be on the look out for some special guests!

 

Tech Playground

Age: Pre-S through Adults
6/4 - 7/28 | 
Anythime the library is open. 
No registration required.  

Stop by and try out some of the library’s cool tech toys like our Snap Circuits, Digital Cameras, Google Cardboard VR, and more.

 

Animal Camera Hunt

Age: Pre-S through Adults
6/4 - 7/28 | Anythime the library is open. 
No registration required.  

Come have fun “hunting” for animals with the library’s digital cameras.  Each week is a different challenge to find specific animals hidden around the Youth Services Department and to take their pictures.  Your photos will be displayed at the library.

 

Bingo

Saturday, 7/28 at 1 PM
No registration required.  

Bring the whole family! Older kids and adults will enjoy the fast-paced excitement, while younger children can become more familiar with numbers and letters. We’ll have lots of (small) prizes to give away, so come play “B-4” they’re all gone!

 

Board Games

Age: Pre-S through Adults
Saturday, 7/21 at 1 PM
No registration required.  

Join us for afternoons of gaming – board games, card games, and video games. You can play games like Checkers, Connect 4, UNO, and Monopoly. You can also challenge your friends in video games. Feel free to bring board/card games from home.

 

Family Chess (and Trading
Card Games) Night

Age: 1st Grade - Adults 
Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 PM

No registration required.  

Learn to play from our instructor or just play with others to improve your skills.  
We provide the chess boards and pieces; bring your own trading card decks.  
Fun for the whole family.

We invite you to fill out our information forms.  
Homeschoolers: Your form will be used to keep you informed of library events that might interest your family.
Tutors: Your form will be used to provide information to library patrons who request to know about local area tutors.
Information forms will be available in youth services.
