Stories have the special ability to transport even the most reluctant traveler to places they could never imagine! Join us this summer as we lean into the transportive power of books and let "reading take us everywhere!" Online registration for this year's Summer Reading program, themed "Reading Takes You Everywhere," opens Saturday, June 2 at, and special summer reading "passports" will soon be available for pick-up at our Main Library and Bob Lucas Branch. Packed full of events tailored for each age group and details of our exciting prizes, your passport is your key to unlocking all that Summer Reading has to offer. Collect stamps as you reach reading milestones and earn prizes along the way.

FAMILIES, SAVE THE DATE!  Rev your engines, turn on your lights and sirens, and grab your hardhats because it's time for Truck Day! Our Second Annual Truck Day will be held in the Altadena Library parking lot to kick off our Children's Summer Reading program. Join us for a morning of fire trucks, construction equipment, crafts, and signing up for summer reading, of course! You'll be able to sign up online (with staff assistance as needed) and pick up your passports so your children can start tracking their reading right away.

ADULTS, SUMMER READING IS NOT JUST FOR KIDS!   Adults have their very own Summer Reading events and activities this summer! By tracking reading, completing library activities, and attending events, you can earn stamps in our adult passport; when you earn enough stamps, you'll be eligible for our Grand Prize Drawing at the end of the summer! Save the Date - Adult Summer Reading launches Friday, June 22 with an adults-only Trivia Night at the Main Library.
