This Weekend!! Friends of the Altadena Library Pop-Up Booksale!

This weekend  Saturday, February 24 from 10:00am to 4:00pm , stop by the Main Library's parking lot for a pop-up booksale with the Friends of Altadena Library. You'll find AMAZING bargains on fiction, non-fiction, children's books, movies, and more!! All proceeds support the Friends' mission to enrich the programs and materials offered at the Altadena Library District.


PLEASE NOTE - The Altadena Library District February Board of Trustees Meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 7 at 5:00pm.

An agenda with the items to be considered will be available no later than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the meeting and will be available at the Altadena Main Library, Bob Lucas Branch Library, and Altadena Community Center. Meeting minutes and agendas are also available electronically at .


Teens, Make a Candy Airplane and Meet Author Gwen Katz

On Thursday, March 1 at 4:00pm , drop by the Teen Space to meet Gwen Katz, author of Among the Red Stars. You will hear excerpts from the book and have a chance to ask questions about the airwomen the Nazis called the "Night Witches." You can purchase copies of her book as well as create and EAT your DIY airplane!


Calling All Aspiring Gardeners!

Our next Seed Library presentation will feature Master Gardeners Jessica Yarger and Patricia Hasen who will teach "Beginning Gardening" on Saturday, March 3 at 10:00am . Even if you can't make the full presentation, we encourage you to visit between 10:00am and 12:00pm to check out seeds at the Main Library!


"Beauty Bites Beast" Screening and Discussion

Save the date for this special screening of local filmmaker Ellen Snortland's film "Beauty Bites Beast" and discussion panel on  Thursday, March 8 at 7:00pm  at the Main Library! Parking will be limited due to multiple events happening at the Library that night; parking details will be included in next week's email.


"A Stitch of Time" Reading

Save the date! On Saturday, March 10 at 2:00pm author Lauren Marks will read from her gripping memoir "A Stitch of Time" about her journey to regaining her language and identity after a brain aneurysm.
