Make a Meaningful Difference in YOUR Community This Giving Tuesday

Right around the corner, nestled in the shade of deodar trees, the Altadena Library District is busy at work developing plans for an interactive outdoor learning environment and garden that will wrap around the entirety of its Main Library building on Mariposa Street.

Today, your Giving Tuesday gift to the Altadena Library Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the efforts of Altadena Library District, will directly fund this innovative, outdoor space. Our goal with this project is to both meet the community's mobility needs and greatly increase the Library's capacity to  provide outdoor learning experiences for children and teens, multi-use outdoor meeting spaces, and serene reading spots surrounded by indigenous flora for patrons and passersby of all ages.

Since 2017 marks the milestone 50th Anniversary of the Main Library building, we would love if you would consider making a donation in an increment of $50 (or more!) and help us provide a space for learning, convening, and resting amidst the natural beauty of our community.

Plans Are Already In Motion...

Above is a map of the Main Library property with the various new sections of landscape broken up by color. Through our work with volunteers and local experts, the vision for the new outdoor space and its many amenities is becoming clearer and clearer!
