Summer May Be Coming to a Close, But The Fun Continues!

It's official -- summer is coming to an end. Little ones are getting back into their school routines, morning traffic is noticeably more hectic, and the days are already feeling shorter as we inch toward autumn. Before we completely let go of this glorious season of summer fun, we have reason to celebrate! At Altadena Library District, the summer was chock-full of exciting events and achievements, including:

  • High attendance at a full slate of adult Summer Reading events like our climate change speaker, wildcrafting workshop, groundbreaking documentary screenings, and singer-songwriter night
  • A record of 800 readers signed up for Summer Reading, tracking upwards of 5,900 hours of reading from June to August
  • Creative programming for teens including a multi-session sewing class, Maker Mondays, DIY Clubs, and game days
  • Story times for children of all ages inside and out of the Library, including at Loma Alta Pool and Altadena Farmers Market, and Lego and Pokemon Clubs for our school-age patrons

Get on your dancing shoes and join the party!

With those achievements in mind, we invite the public to join us to celebrate a successful and productive summer at our Grand Finale Concert featuring internationally award-winning El Twanguero and his talented band on Friday, August 25 at 7:30pm. Dubbed by some as one of the best guitarists in the world, El Twanguero is sure to thrill Altadenans of all ages with his masterful guitar skills and robust melodies.

Let us know you're coming to the concert and share with your Facebook friends!
Learn more about El Twanguero and his vast musical background.
Can't make the concert? Join us for our Open Mic Night the next week for more music!
