Couch Club

Join Willard librarians Jade Woodridge and Chelsea Tungate for the weekly Couch Club, when readers are invited to virtually discuss a section of "The Gift of Forgiveness" by Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt for five weeks in May. Each week, participants will separately read a portion of the book and then gather to discuss the reading.

Poetry, short stories, and excerpts from favorite books are on tap for Stories at Sundown, a story time for adults. Michael McCullough, Willard community engagement and local digital collection librarian, invites you to sit back and relax as he reads at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Afternoons with Miss Alisha

Each Wednesday in May, join Miss Alisha for a fun craft or STEAM activity live on Willard Library's Facebook page. And if you can't make it then, the videos will be archived for viewing later.

Week One: DIY Paper Marbling (this was supposed to be a Tween Night; we're going to do it from home!) Materials needed:  Shaving cream Food coloring or acrylic paint A cookie sheet Cardstock or watercolor paper.

Meredith May, author of 'The Honey Bus'

Meredith May is a fifth-generation beekeeper and author of “The Honey Bus: A Memoir of Loss, Courage and a Girl Saved by Bees.” On Facebook Live, Meredith will talk about the life lessons she learned in her grandfather’s bee yard and the Honey Bus, an old military bus he turned into a honey factory. In addition, she will talk about what it’s like to be a beekeeper.
