Visit Willard Library or the Helen Warner Branch in May to take advantage of great free family programs! There's something going on this month for kids of all ages. Adults can pick up the latest fiction, learn new computer and technology skills with a one-on-one appointment, or tackle a new project with our how-to books. Be sure to visit the library this month for one of the following events:

Youngsters ages 1 to 5 will enjoy songs, crafts, activities, and dancing that make potty training fun. Parents will learn about potty-training-related books and other resources that Willard Library has to offer at Elmo's Potty Training Party on Monday, May 2. This event will be offered both in the morning at 11 a.m. and in the evening at 6:30 p.m.
Learn amazing facts about science when representatives from the Kingman Museum and the Leila Arboretum present hands-on science activities on Saturday, May 7.
Miniature gardens are popular for all ages! If you haven't started one yet, our miniature garden series will be a great way to begin. Each week children and tweens are invited to create an element to add to their own miniature garden. For anyone who has a fairy or hobbit garden, these crafts will fit right in. Bring your imagination at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays during May, beginning May 4. The four-week series will wrap up by planting a miniature garden at the Helen Warner Branch.
On Monday, May 16, the What A Do Theater will present some scenes from its show, "The Diary of Anne Frank." The play tells the story from 13-year-old Anne's diary of the two years her family spent hiding from the Nazi soldiers in Amsterdam. Also, the cast members will talk about the history of the theater and conduct a question-and-answer session. This is a great way to expose children to theater.
