"How Do Dinosaurs?" Story Time Kick-off |
Kick off Willard’s winter story times and programs with a special “How Do Dinosaurs” costume-character visit. The dinosaurs in the series by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague are known as America's favorite dinosaurs. Families will enjoy stories, crafts, and photo opportunities with the dinosaur. The program is geared for those from birth to 5 years.

Staying Safe, Part of the thirdAGE Learning Series |
A two-part series designed to help older adults protect themselves and their loved ones from exploitation. The first session examines common scams and fraud. Participants will learn how to recognize, refuse and report. The second session, which will be Feb. 11 will focus on recognizing the signs of elder abuse and tools for preventing it.

Reading is Lit Book Club: The Hate U Give |
A book club will gather for discussion, refreshments, and occasional team building activities around the title, "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas. Participants, in fifth through 12th grades, are encouraged to read the book or watch the movie before the monthly programs.

Kalamazoo River: Revealing the Past: Love Where You Live Series |
Lisa DeChano-Cook and Mary Brooks, authors of the recently published book, Kalamazoo River, will highlight the river’s role in local history. They will discuss the ecological impacts of industrialization and what is being done to restore the river’s natural flow and aquatic life. Books will be available for purchase at the program.
The program is part of Willard’s Love Where You Live series, which aims to help residents—new and longtime—embrace this wonderful community.
