Students in fifth through 12 grades are invited to hang out in the Willard Library Teen Room and discuss their current favorite anime, manga, or graphic novel series with other teens while crafting and snacking on the first Thursday of the month. Fairy House Book Art

Book art classes are back! Adults and teens may learn how to fold the pages of a book into a fairy house. Participants will learn two folding techniques and decorate their houses with whimsical embellishments. All supplies will be provided. Space is limited, so please register. An Evening With Vannetta Chapman

“South of Superior,” by Ellen Airgood, is the 2018 Battle Creek Reads selection. Airgood will discuss her book, her writing process, and life in the Upper Peninsula. The novel tells the story of Madeline Stone who leaves her Chicago life to live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. As she is drawn into the dramas of the small, tight-knit town, Madeline learns that it’s a place where times are tough and debts run deep, but where friendship, community, and compassion run deeper. Airgood’s books will be for sale and she will be signing them.
