Maker Mondays: Genealogy Binder
|
Drop into the Creative Space downtown to learn about the new equipment and resources on Monday afternoons. Each month features a different project. The January project will be using the vinyl cutter to create a personalized family tree research binder. Each binder contains printouts from ancestry.com to help with the research process. In addition, library staff will be available to answer questions about using library resources for family research.

What's Your Story |
Family history is the story of your family, including you. Local genealogy expert Jessica Brooks returns to Willard to present a second genealogy program
showing that when it comes to family history, everyone can do something. Jessica
earned a bachelor’s degree in family history/genealogy from Brigham Young
University and has been actively researching her family history for 25 years.

Students ages 9-14 are invited for a night of painting with award-winning artist Jamari Taylor, owner of Jaylie Art. Participants will create their own cherry blossoms

Join Miss Stephanie and Battle Creek Police Department officers for a fun story time. School-aged children will enjoy listening to a story, meeting our
city’s police officers, and taking home police-related crafts and giveaways. Attendees must wear masks. Parking is available directly across the street. Materials for the craft will be in the January School Age Grab ’n’ Go Kits.

Burmese Author Interview: Aung Way |
Burmese author and publisher Aung Way will discuss his life, his career in the world of literature, and his activism work for the Burmese community in an informal interview conducted in the Burmese language. The longtime political activist has published more than 38 books of poetry and essays. Aung came to the United States in 2008 and now resides in Lansing.
