Join Us for Marc Berger's Performance

The South Branch Library, located at 103 South Harris Street, has musician Marc Berger performing American West hits from his album RIDE on Sunday, July 2 at 2 pm on the outside Reading Deck. If it rains the concert will move indoors to the Hopefull/Discovery rooms.

Berger performed at Austin’s South by Southwest Music Festival and the Kerrville and Falcon Ridge Folk Festivals. He opened for Bob Dylan and other national performers as well. According to his website, “Marc’s life has been about pursuing twin passions: creating and recording his American roots songs, and exploring remote areas of the desert and mountain West.” A regular artist in New York City clubs, Berger had a strong attraction for the West. This attraction led Berger and co-producer Mike Ricciardi to create RIDE. “It’s ten cinematic recordings reflecting his romantic connection to the American West and exploring the value of its myths to contemporary culture.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Marc Berger all the way from New York to Summit County and think his western folk style is a perfect fit in Colorado,” said Sarah Scheinman, South Branch Library Adult Program Director. "We know Summit County music lovers will find the deck of the South Branch a great venue to showcase Marc's American Roots sound so we recommend patrons arrive early to get a great seat for this performance,” she added.

Berger’s website describes this album as, “From the haunting message and beat of ‘Twister’ and the soul-shaking challenge of taming a wild horse in ‘Take it on the Chin,’ to the sexy, mind-blowing, middle-of-nowhere encounter of ‘Time Waits for No Man,’ RIDE takes the audience on a dusty tour of the Great American Frontier."
