Have You Considered Becoming a Friend of Summit County Library?
The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit all-volunteer group that supports all three Summit County Library locations. Originally organized in Summit County in 1960 the non-profit was incorporated in 1977. The Friends sponsor programs throughout the year, including special children's events and a Travel Slideshow Series in the Blue River Room of the North Branch Library.
Three times a year, the Friends host an enormous used book sale in the Buffalo Mountain and Mt. Royal Rooms at the County Commons building in Frisco.The Friends also fund the Teen Summer Reading Program and the Fall Adult Reading Program at all three library locations.
This month the Friends host their regular meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 8. They also invite both residents and visitors to attend the Travel Slide Show Series third presentation by Matt Shetzer titled, "Hummingbirds of Costa Rica and Ecuador."
The Annual Book Club Tea is sponsored by the Friends and occurs on Wednesday, Feb. 22. For more details see the event page.
