Two Volunteers Honored for Dedicated Service
Summit County Library hosted its annual Library Appreciation Awards dinner on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at the South Branch Library. Two volunteers were honored for their dedicated service to the library with the Volunteer of the Year and Van Woodford Service Awards. More than 50 volunteers, including Friends of the Library members, Summit County Library board and Summit Foundation board members attended the event celebrating another year of service to our patrons and to the Summit County community.
The Summit County Library honored Dan Taylor with the Van Woodford Service Award for his five years of service to the Summit County Library board and his service as the liaison to the Friends of the Library where he organized and operated the Dillon Farmer's Market Friends of the Library booth for the last six years.
Kathleen Martynowicz received the Volunteer of the Year Award for her five years of service on the Summit County Library board serving as the Secretary, Friends of the Library liaison and the Community Relations liaison. Martynowicz currently serves on the Summit Reads committee.
The Summit County Library staff and board members appreciate all of the volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to making Summit County Library a place where residents and visitors can discover, connect and inspire one another.
