Story time at the Main Library in Frisco, the North Branch in Silverthorne and the South Branch in Breckenridge all occur today, Wednesday, Oct. 26! We welcome you and your preschooler starting at 10:30 am at the Main Library. Join your friends and meet new ones at this week’s program. 

Come by the South Branch in Breckenridge for story time at 11 am. We have books, songs, and more in the Hopefull/Discovery Room downstairs. This week the South Branch is reading about Halloween. Dress in your costume to go trick-or-treating afterwards!

The North Branch Library’s story time is also at 11 am today. All preschoolers are asked to dress in costume to go trick-or-treating at the Silverthorne Town Hall and Police Department after Story Time.

Next week the North Branch Library's theme is Being Creative on Nov. 1 and 2 at 11 am. The South Branch also has story time at 11 am on Nov. 1 and 2 with stories, games and snacks. The Main Library is reading about Hibernation on Nov. 2  at 10:30 am. Please visit one or more of our Preschool Story Times.

After School Club happens every Wednesday at the South Branch Library during the school year and is open to all 1st through 5th graders. Each week we have a different activity including arts and crafts, Legos, science experiments, games and more! This week’s theme is Draw a Frankenbuddy

As part of the Adult Fall Reading Program join Doreen McVay at the Main Library in Frisco from 4 pm to 5 pm on Friday, Oct. 28. Doreen will read creepy tales and Halloween legends sure to get your neck hairs standing on end. All are invited.

Join the South Branch Library on Saturday, Oct. 29 for a Teen Halloween Party from 3 pm to 4;30 pm. We will play games, create spooky snacks, and more. Come in costume or we will have costumes for you to try! 

The Summit County Library is a county department which abides by state library laws. The seven member Board of Trustees (BOT) is appointed by the Summit County Commissioners and we are looking for a volunteer to serve one opening for a 5 year term as a new member of the board.

The members are selected to represent the geographic area of the county and serve without financial compensation. The BOT governs the library, establishes policies, and employs a library director to carry out the policies and manage the library.

The board meets monthly on the fourth Thursday of each month, usually at the County Commons in Frisco. Please sumbit your letter of linterest indicating why you would like to serve on the Library Board and your resume outlining your past experiences to the Executive Director, Joyce Dierauer, by Saturday, Nov. 11 at 5 pm.
