Lafayette Reads Together
Join us for this community-wide reading and learning experience from the Lafayette Public Library, the Lafayette Parish School System and many local organizations. Visit our libraries for free copies of the graphic novel Ms. Marvel: No Normal by G. Willow Wilson starting Tuesday, January 17. Programs focusing on the themes of the book will take place at our libraries and throughout the community between January 14 and March 11. Come to the Main Library on Saturday, February 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. for our Lafayette Reads Together Fest, an afternoon filled with Ms. Marvel-insprired activities, including a performance by Pakistani dancer Mehnaz Hoosein, henna artists and superhero-sized science experiments.

Despite being born 15 years after the breakup of the Beatles, guest speaker Aaron Krerowicz is the United States' only full-time professional Beatles music scholar. His multimedia presentation (part history, part musical analysis) on Sunday, January 29 will explore the band's contribution to the music and pop culture of the 1960s.
