Author Matt de la Peña, winner of the 2016 Newbery Medal for his picture book Last Stop on Market Street, will speak about his journey from a reluctant reader to award-winning author. He will talk about what inspires him and what his plans are for the future in writing books. He has written six critically acclaimed young adult novels and two award-winning picture books.

Come early and children will get a chance to tour a city bus from 5:45 – 6:30 PM.

This talk will take place at the Main Library on Thursday, September 28 from 6:30 – 7:15 PM. Open to all ages.
