Don't Forget to Vote!

The November 8th election will include many important races. The very last item on the ballot is the library millage renewal. This parishwide millage funds a wide range of library services and operations. The library system does not receive sales tax money, state funding or Lafayette Consolidated Government general funds. Our libraries depend almost entirely (96%) on millages.

Notes from the Library Director

As the year begins to wind down and we turn toward the holidays and give thanks for another good year, I have to give a big thanks to two organizations that exist to support the public library.

BREAKOUT! A team-based escape game.

Engaging, adventurous and FUN! Find hidden clues and solve puzzles to complete the challenge and help your team “escape.” Registration begins Monday, November 7. Call to reserve a 45-minute time slot for your team.

Library Holiday Hours

Our libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Many of our locations will close early the day before these holidays. To see a full schedule of closing times, please visit our website.

CRAFT: Make Your Own Holiday Candles

Learn how to make chunk candles with local artist Connie Boustany. Adults only, please. Registration begins Monday, November 21. Register online at LafayettePublicLibrary.org. This program takes place on Wednesday, December 7.
