A Note from the Library Director:
Dear Library User,
Drive-through (Main Branch) or Lobby Service (Askren and Belloni Branches) begins on June 1st, and staff members are almost ready to allow the computer system to tell us what materials you have on hold. That's the good news. The bad news is that the system might automatically notify you that something is ready for you, when in fact it has not been pulled, checked out, or taken to the pickup site. Those notices are great in a "normal" situation where the item gets returned and we immediately place it on a shelf with your name on it. As you know, there's NOTHING "normal" about operations in a pandemic!
So we urge you to be patient for just a bit longer. Ignore those auto messages.
For your own frustration level, do not jump in the car and come to the library seeking that material until you get a call (or text or email) from a LIVE library staff member. We will interact with you and tell you when the materials can be retrieved, and see if there's anything else we can pull for you.
How exciting it will be to see your familiar and friendly faces and hand you library books or movies after so many weeks apart. We just urge you to not set yourself up for disappointment by getting here and finding that your materials aren't ready.
