The health and safety of our patrons and staff is of the utmost importance to the Massillon Public Library. In compliance with Governor DeWine’s order to encourage social distancing and limit public gatherings to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus, beginning Thursday, March 12, the Massillon Public Library, its Pam S. Belloni Branch, in Brewster, and its Barry Askren Branch, in Navarre have canceled all programs scheduled for the remainder of March. The main location of the library is also suspending Sunday hours indefinitely. This temporary Sunday closure will begin this Sunday, March 15. Additionally, the library’s Bookmobile will have temporary restrictions, including limited stops, accepting returns only and no check outs, and reducing the number of patrons gathered on the bus at one time. The Massillon Public Library will continue to post any and all updates on our website and on Facebook as this rapidly evolving situation continues.
Also in compliance with Governor DeWine’s order to temporarily close K through 12 schools in Ohio to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus, the Belloni Branch of the Massillon Public Library, which is located inside Fairless Elementary School, will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 16 and, if the Governor allows, reopening on Monday, April 6.
For those patrons that do come to the library, we already offer hand sanitizer for library users at all locations, and have added disinfectant wipes for any patron who wishes to wipe down a computer prior to use.
The Massillon Public Library is pleased to remind patrons that eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, television shows, comic books, and magazines are available using your library card, via hoopla and the Ohio Digital Library. Additionally, online interactive books, puzzles, and games are available for children through TumbleBooks on the library’s website.
