It’s Summer Reading time at the Massillon Public Library and everyone is invited to participate! This year’s theme is “Oceans of Possibilities” – featuring aquatic stories and fun! Your library will have programming and activities for all ages – Kids, Teens, and Adults!
Summer Reading Club (ages 0 – Grade 6)
Children from birth through going into Grade 6 are invited to visit library locations (Main, Bookmobile, Askren Branch, Belloni Branch), keep track of their summer reading, and participate in programs and activities. Those who meet weekly reading goals will earn rewards and entries into prize drawings. For more information, contact the Children’s Department at 330-832-9831, x317.
Teen Summer Reading (Grades 7-12)
Teens are encouraged to track their reading and earn entries in prize drawings. Registration forms are available in the Teen Area of the Main library, at the Askren and Belloni branches, and on the Bookmobile. For more information, contact Susan Baker at 330-832-9831, ext. 321.
Adult Summer Reading (age 18 and over)
Summer Reading BINGO will take place from June 21 – September 23. Drawing for prizes will take place in early October. For more information, contact the Reference Desk at 330-832-9831 ext. 312.

Experience how music and literature fit together during these unique events presented in collaboration with the Canton Symphony Orchestra.
Massillon Library staff will read some of our favorite stories while Canton Symphony Orchestra musicians provide a backdrop of music. Children will enjoy the interplay between the written word and music as the musicians add to the read aloud experience with sound effects and background music. Members of the Orchestra will also teach children about their instruments and the instrument families between each story.
