The Massillon Public Library is proud to cooperate with the Massillon Museum and participate in The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts designed to bring communities together in celebration of reading and literature.
In 2023, Stark county residents are invited to read Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu and expand on that experience by participating in any or all of the planned community events.

Massillon Public Library in partnership with the Massillon Local History & Genealogy Society invites you to learn about Ohio Canals. Local historian Richard Haldi will tell the story of the 310-mile hand-dug ditch that lifted Ohio up and out of a wilderness existence. The presentation will explore the canal's remarkable story from its inception in the 1820s to the appearance of the first canal boats in Massillon in 1828.

Fiero Code is a new learn-to-code resource available to use for free with your library card! Through this web-based educational software, kids ages 8-18 can learn computer programming skills through a series of tutorials and projects. They will work towards building websites, video games, phone apps, animations and more, all while learning how to become better problem solvers and critical thinkers. Adults might find it fun to learn, too!
