WHAT'S COMING  

Get ready for our Earth Day Extravaganza on April 27 from 10:00 to 1:00! 

As of now, there are plans for several display tables and table talks related to the theme "Save Our Species".  Kona Ice is scheduled for 10 to noon, see a live eagle at the "All About Eagles" presentation at 11:00 and Jefferson County Waste management will bring their recycling truck.  Give aways include earth day coloring books, bookmarks, seed packets and composting handouts.  More detailed infomation will be in the April Newsletter and in the Library.

We will soon be changing our program emails. They will come from < mailchimpapp.net>.  We've just sent a new newsletter, JCL Insiders, to all who are on the Adult Program mailing lists.  This is a selection of programs from each branch that may be of interest to "retirees" who visit the library.  Thanks for looking at it.  Unsubscibe if you're not interested.  You will continue to get emails for your preferred Branch Adult Programs.

Coloring Club
Friday, March 1 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm

This group meets every Friday of the month.  Registration is not necessary.  Supplies are provided.


Basics of Beekeeping 
Wednesday, March 13 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm

Are you interested in beekeeping? Want to learn how to get started?

Scott Moser of the Jefferson County Beekeepers Association will present a beekeeping seminar.  He will be able to answer all your questions and give you valuable advice regarding the keeping of bees. Although this is a free event, registration is required online or at (636) 741-5933.


Adult Book Club        
Thursday, March 14 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm

Looking for a fun way to connect with other book lovers?  Want to be challenged to read outside of your normal genre comfort zone? This club is for you. Each month we will read a different novel and discuss it at our meeting.  Come join us and make a new friend.  Books will be available at the circulation desk approximately one month prior to each meeting. There are limited copies, so get yours early. To register or for more information, visit our calendar, call (636) 741-5933, or email: kgraham@jeffcolib.org.  

This month we are reading  "All the Bright Places" by Jennifer Niven.  This is what Goodreads has to say about the book:  The Fault in Our Stars meets Eleanor and Park in this exhilarating and heart-wrenching love story about a girl who learns to live from a boy who intends to die.

Madden NFL 19 Tournament
Friday, March 15 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm
Friday, March 22 (if more time is needed)

There will be a bracket for those ages 12-19 and another bracket for those over 19. Bracket(s) will be drawn up prior to the tournament. The winner of each bracket will face off in the final match. The winner of the final match will receive a $75 GameStop gift card and the runner-up will receive a $50 GameStop gift card. Those wishing to attend are encouraged to register by calling (636) 461-1741 or in person as we have only 16 spots available (8 for each age bracket).


FAFSA/Financial Aid Workshop    
Tuesday, March 19 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm

The Windsor Branch of the Jefferson County Library is happy to be partnering with the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis to bring you an informative workshop on the FAFSA and financial aid process.  This workshop is designed to assist students and families in assessing financial aid packages to ensure affordability. Participants will learn how to critically evaluate and compare financial aid offers; understand options available when the unmet need (or gap) is too high; and, know when, how, and under what circumstances to appeal for additional aid from the school.  This is a FREE presentation; however, registration is required on our calendar or at (636)741-5933.

Etching on Wine Glasses

Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia

Alzheimer's is not normal aging.  It's a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior.  Join us to learn about the impact of Alzheimer's, its stages and risk factors, current treatments, Association resources and how it's different from dementia.  Signup online at

Rediscovering Thomas C. Fletcher
Saturday, April 13 from 10:00 to 11:00 am

Dr. Stephen F. Huss will preview his new book “Rediscovering Thomas C. Fletcher: The Lost Missouri Governor”. The presentation will discuss Thomas C. Fletcher and his role as Governor of Missouri. Fletcher was the first Republican and first native-born governor. Born in Herculaneum, his Hillsboro home is on the National Register of Historic Places.
