New Online Resources for 2020

We have subscribed to 3 new online resources this year - all freely available with a Barrie library card!:

Auto Repair Source - Automotive repair and maintenance manuals. This replaces our subscription to Chilton Library


CreativeBug - Online video tutorials and projects for crafters. Includes videos on art, sewing, quilting, paper crafts (including Cricut), knitting, crochet, cooking, jewellery, party craft and kids projects. Also features monthly projects with daily mini-projects and CBTV, their own home-grown crafting show


Flipster - Online magazines. This complements the online magazine coverage from our other providers, RBDigital and PressReader

We also cancelled some online resources, mainly due to low usage or because we subscribed to an alternative:

• Literature Resource Center - Literary references can still be found through Novelist, Books & Authors, Gale Literary Sources, EBSCO Explora (the aggregated search interface for most of our EBSCO resources) and Gale Power Search (Gale's aggregated search interface)
   
• Chilton - replaced with Auto Repair Source (see above)
   
• CPI.Q - Canadian newspapers, some of which are still covered by Academic OneFile and EBSCO Explora for back issues and PressReader for current issues.
   
• General OneFile - Broad variety of full-text journals and magazines. This area is still covered by Academic OneFile and EBSCO Explora
   
• Encyclopedia Universalis - Junior and Senior
   
• Small Engine Repair Reference Center
