Abstract:
David Carr Glover (1925-1988) was a prolific composer of teaching and recital pieces for students of piano, beginning his work in the early 1950s. Many of his musical compositions and arrangements are still available for purchase through Alfred Music. This story of his life and work is the first written biography of one of Portsmouth's most notable Virginia citizens. His legacy in the Tidewater area lives today through a scholarship that bears his name. David had many friends and collaborators and their memories of him are recorded here. His career got its start with Charles Hansen and Walt Disney and he continued work with Disney throughout his career. He is often associated with the Mickey Mouse March. Inside you will find the details about this and many other pieces.
