Library Journal Review
Lipp delivers an excellent resource for mothers (and fathers) who wonder how to handle various situations that typical parenting books don't often cover-such as when your child is overwhelmed, is sick, lacks character, struggles, or is being left out. As the author of Praying God's Word for Your Husband and Praying God's Word for Your Life, this popular Christian speaker now addresses difficulties that arise in parenting toddlers, teens, and even adult offspring. Her humorous approach to minor and major crises makes this an enjoyable, practical read. She encourages moms to accept that children will have difficulties, find other moms to support you unconditionally, and recognize that you are not alone in facing these troubles. Following these introductory chapters, the author focuses on nine common issues from a mom's perspective. For each, she shares basic Bible principles to follow, a story or two "from the trenches," some practical tips, and appropriate scriptural prayers for the mom to pray for herself and her child. VERDICT Mothers and fathers looking for Christian parenting books that go beyond the basics of teaching obedience will appreciate this practical, humorous collection of tips and prayers.
