Infinity
By Kenyon, Sherrilyn
This would be a great series to fill that Harry Potter or Percy Jackson void. It reminds me of the Dresden Files for the YA crowd, and like Harry and Percy, readers start out with Nick at 14 years old--just as he’s beginning to learn about his powers. The dialogue is a lot of fun and makes liberal use of pop culture references. Nick is a likable character, sarcastic and funny. His situation, sans demons and powers, is one that readers can recognize. The supporting characters are equally as interesting, and the story arc is a good one that wraps up nicely by the end of the book. The series-wide arc (or what I assume is a series-wide arc) begs the reader to pick up the next installment of the "Chronicles of Nick," which I intend to do relatively soon.
