About the Author
I currently cover fabulous fashion & lustworthy lifestyle luxuries for my site, Fashiontribes.com, which I started in 2004 as an outlet for my undying love of all things shiny & pretty. When I'm off the clock, I love to travel & have fun adventures. I've driven around Tasmania in a dilapidated excuse for a car, hiked & camped the Inca Trail...during the rainy season, taken a hairy/scary midnight trainride from Moscow to St. Petersburg, taught college kids in Transylvania, visited Ghengis Khan's favorite tower (for tossing misbehaving city residents from) in Bokhara, bungee-jumped in Costa Rica, watched the penguins in Patagonia & Safari'd in Tanzania. However, when duty calls, I happily don my I'm-actually-a-writer hat and have had stuff published over the years in a wide variety of international print mags galore, including Elle Girl, GQ & Marie Claire in Asia. Books, too - most recently *HOW TO WORK WITH BLOGGERS* for businesses trying to figure out how to work successfully with unruly bloggers & not get anything bitten off in the process. I wrote it after answering the same basic questions again & again (& again) from brands mystified by this unruly new breed of publisher with power, The Blogger, and committing the same silly faux pas and dumb mistakes repeatedly. Some are/were merely clueless (off-topic or boring press releases), some boneheaded (although highly entertaining) such as unfortunate "Reply Alls" (nothing good ever came of "Reply All"), some shady (swag-bribery) and some outright shady (offers of cashish bribery) - but I decided they all needed saving from them selves. So be sure to pick up your copy of *HOW TO WORK WITH BLOGGERS* to make sure you're in the know...rather than ending up a morality tale in my next edition of the book. :)As a blogger, I've always been stylishly early to the New Media party & one of the first indie online-publishers to live-podcast New York Fashion Week and cover the runway shows as an officially-accredited member of the press. My front-row seat extended beyond just the catwalk to the Blogosphere itself & I've watched it morph from an obscure geek over-share hobby into its current configuration: a New Media medium that's here to stay. And for good reason: it's no longer simply aping print, it has evolved into a unique and organic form of publishing built around interacting and connecting. My extensive expertise in the Blogosphere has been covered in Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Women's Wear Daily, The New York Observer, About.com, New York Resident Magazine, Newsday, USA Today and I've been booked as a repeat guest on nationally-syndicated Radio with a Twist. I was also chosen to be both a StriVectin Insider and a Blogger Brand Ambassador for the launch of the super-cheeky Marc Jacobs Bang men's fragrance campaign.Books-wise, I also penned *LINGERIE: A MODERN GUIDE* (Chartwell Books) -
