About this item

In the form of semi-autobiography, the book describes the legend of the five generations of the family as well as the rise and fall of the west of China in the past century-long time. It reflects the historical changes of a century. The book infuses the mysterious elements of religious myth and folklore, ingeniously combines the reality and fantasy and shows a world that can not be described in words. The plot is compact, sometimes puffed up and sometimes soft, sometimes exciting and sometimes touching. It is one of the best national minority literatures in contemporary China. Padi Guli was awarded the Peoples Literature Prize in 2014 largely due to her detailed portrait of the western history, culture and religion.
