Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer, CC. In 1968, he was invested as a Companion of the Order of Canada (CC) . In 2001, he received the Canadian Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement. Recipient of two Tony Awards (1974, 1997) , two Emmy Awards (1976, 1974) , and the Golden Globe Award and Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (2012) . Best known for Sound of Music. Awarded honourary doctorates from New York's Juilliard School, University of Toronto, Ryerson University, McGill University, University of Western Ontario, University of Ottawa, and University of Guelph.
