Kyle Newman is a Hugo nominated, New York Times bestselling author and award-wining filmmaker whose directorial work encompasses several feature films including, Fanboys, the Star Wars-fueled comedy starring Kristen Bell and Seth Rogen, the action-comedy Barely Lethal starring Oscar Nominees Hailee Steinfeld and Samuel L. Jackson alongside Jessica Alba for A24 Films and the upcoming 1UP starring Ruby Rose for Lionsgate.He has directed music videos for some of the industry's top artists including Taylor Swift ("Style", "Clean") , Lana Del Rey ("Summertime Sadness") and created the video content for the Taylor Swift: 1989 World Tour featuring Cara Delevingne, Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez and more. Newman produced the acclaimed documentary Raiders: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made, about three teenagers who set out to recreate Steven Spielberg's classic Raiders of the Lost Ark shot-for-shot in 1982 as well as the thriller 'Happily' alongside Jack Black. He also crafted the story for the hit Netflix Original animated feature 'Gnome Alone' for Shrek-producer John H. Williams. In 2018, Penguin Random House published his first book Dungeons & Dragons: Art & Arcana -- a history of the world's greatest roleplaying game spanning five generations - to great critical acclaim including nominations for a Locus and Hugo Award. His second book, Heroes' Feast: The Official Dungeons & Dragons Cookbook was a NY Times, WSJ, USAToday bestseller.
