About the Author

Kathleen Eyke

Kathleen (Kat) Michele Eyke, author of the "Southern Family Ties" novel series, was born on September 7, 1977 in Charleston, South Carolina to Bill and Linda Eyke. After her father completed his service in the Navy, her family moved to a farm in Alabama.

From the day Kat was born, she was destined to become an author as she was aptly named after her mother's favorite romance novelist. Ever since she turned five years old, it was her dream to become a writer, particularly for National Geographic magazine. Her grandfather, a journalist, was a pivotal figure and a huge encouragement to her success. Writing has always been a way for her to escape to various places she could only dream of visiting. Her works are inspired by her love of storytelling and history. Her "Southern Family Ties" series is actually based on local area history passed on to Kat from a lady who experienced it and had stories passed on from her parents.

Kat is currently writing Book Two in the series as well as setting the story line up for Book Three. She anticipates at least seven books in the "Southern Family Ties" series with the possibility for additional novels beyond the original seven. She is also planning several additional stand-alone series set in the same era as her flagship series, but with dramatically different story lines.
