Her essays, cited in Best American Essays, have appeared in such publications as High Desert Journal, River Teeth, Fourth Genre, Sierra, and many anthologies and Hawai'i magazines. A 2022 finalist for the Ellen Meloy Fund Desert Writers Award, and past finalist for the Waterston Desert Writing Prize as well as earlier Ellen Meloy Fund awards, Wilder holds an MA from Northern Arizona University and an MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts. She lives among mustangs in southwestern Colorado.
