U.S. Fish and Wildlife Agent, Angela Dimato discovers the body of a women in the Nature Refuge near Denver Co. Not only is the body is a bizarre and contorted position, it is found within a few feet the of the rare but protected burrowing owl. Christine Goff

Christine Goff is the award-winning author of the bestselling Birdwatcher's Mystery series. Named Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers' 2002 Writer of the Year, two of her novels were Finalists for the prestigious Willa Literary Award for Best Original Paperback Fiction. Her latest novel, A SACRIFICE OF BUNTINGS (previously known as DEATH SHOOTS A BIRDIE) , was a Finalist for the Colorado Authors League Best Genre Fiction Award. Her Birdwatcher's Mystery series focuses on environmental concerns through bird-related issues. The six book in the series, A PARLIAMENT OF OWLS, was released in May 2016.

Writing as Chris Goff, her second in an international thriller series, RED SKY, is scheduled for release June 13, 2017. DARK WATERS, the first in the series, was released in 2015 and was a Finalist for a 2016 Anthony Award for Best Crime Fiction Audiobook, the Colorado Book Award-Thriller category and the 2016 Colorado Authors' League Award for Genre Fiction.

Goff began her career writing non-fiction, penning columns for several local newspapers in Summit County, Colorado, as well as articles for regional and national publication. Later Goff edited rock and ice-climbing guides for Chockstone Press, and worked in graphic production for "Living the Good News," a division of The Morehouse Publishing Group. She has taught writing workshops at the Colorado Free University, the University of Colorado. A long-standing member of multiple writing organizations, she has served on several local, regional and national boards, including Mystery Writers of America. Goff lives in Colorado.
