About the Author
Lisa is a native Virginian who was born in and grew up near Williamsburg, Va., one of the most historic areas in the United States. In her new book, she weaves interesting tidbits of history into the travel information so that visitors using her book understand the historical significance of the places they encounter. An award-winning self-taught photographer, her photography is also featured in her book.Lisa has primarily made her living as a writer in Virginia. She's worked as a weekly newspaper reporter and photographer, managing editor, technical editor, fact-checker, proofreader, graphic designer and high school teacher. She's published numerous articles on topics ranging from business and healthcare to entertainment and art. Her writing has appeared in a number of Virginia newspapers and regional magazines like "Virginia Living," "Greater Richmond GRID," "Sports Backers Quarterly," "Advance for Nurses" (Virginia, D.C., Maryland and Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey print editions and national website) and Boomer, a Richmond-based magazine targeting baby boomers.Lisa's interests include preserving nature and history, and she firmly believes everyone has a story to tell.
