About the Author

Kate Eastwood

As a child I was taught to knit by my mother but I decided 7 years ago to have a go at teaching myself to crochet. I have been completely hooked ever since, having had a crochet hook in my hand pretty much permanently since that first day. From the outset I found that I was drawn to making items that were a little different to the perceived regular crochet style and gradually I have developed an individual style that gives crochet a more contemporary feel. Rather than the traditional Granny square style I find myself drawn to making items that are close in texture, modern looking and worked in fresh but subtle colour ways. With another of my interests being to provide a beautiful home environment I find that I particularly enjoy designing and making things that can be used around my home, both on a practical and a decorative level. My written crochet journey began with the logging of my makes on my blog, and I now love being actively involved in the wonderful Instagram crochet community. I design regularly for various Crochet magazines and for lovecrochet.comWhen putting my book of 35 Crocheted Wreaths and garlands I very much wanted the book to not only be a practical crochet guide but also to encompass a visual element that conveys a love of homeliness and creativity in our surroundings. I wanted the overall feel of the book to be one that exudes my love for everything involved in crocheting something, from the gorgeous yarn chosen, to the colours selected, to the end product that will have been designed to perfectly fit within a homely environment.www.justpootling,blogspot.comIG: @just_pootlingFB: Just Pootling
