About the Author

Carole Robson

Carole is a mixed media painter, working from her studio in the small, rural village of Laddingford, Kent in the UK. Having graduated from Central St. Martin's School of Art in London, with a BA (Hons) and Advanced Diploma in Illustration, she later gained a PGCE teaching degree. Her early career was as a book Illustrator, freelancing for major London publishers and her illustrations are published worldwide.Continuing a life long passion for the natural landscape, Carole's paintings attempt to elevate nature's case and celebrate its humbler aspects, rather than the grand vistas. She particularly enjoys wild or neglected areas, woodland, meadows and field edges, weedy patches and the tangle of overgrown verges. Carole describes herself as an experimental painter, and though watercolour is her first love, she enjoys the process of mixing media, ever curious to discover new combinations. In recent years Carole has also brought digital art into her practice, beginning with her own paintings, which she layers and alters, aiming to create new and exciting abstractions. Eager to retain close connections with other artists, Carole is a member of several artists' groups and shows her paintings widely in galleries and exhibitions. As a trained teacher, Carole puts on her own art courses and also enjoys running workshops for local art groups.
