Diane Worthey grew up in Denver, Colorado. She played violin in the Brico Symphony (Now the Denver Philharmonic) as a teenager. Her book, In One Ear & Out the Other: Antonia Brico & Her Amazingly Musical Life is a tribute to Dr. Antonia Brico, the first woman to conduct the New York Philharmonic.
