Teresa Hannegan Sabankaya began her flower business in 1999 by growing her own assortment of boutique cut flowers, and consequently, her thriving flower and gift shop in Santa Cruz, California was created. Teresa is one of the most innovative floral designers in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Area and has exhibited her floral art at various museums and flower shows including the Bouquets to Art exhibition at the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, the Monterey Museum of Art, and Filoli Mansion and Gardens, a National Trust Historic Site. Her elegant design style calibrates the soul by emitting a familiarity to people, evoking nostalgia with a just gathered from the garden feel.Her love of, or rather obsession with the language of flowers spawned her creation of the modern-day Posy. The Posy is her favorite design in florals, a modern spin on a historic nosegay, these 'little garden bouquets that tells a story' have a permanent place in her heart. This book was inspired by Teresa's desire to share such a beautiful and simple way to tell your story with flowers.Teresa is an instructor of floral design and can be frequently seen leading workshops and presentations about flowers in many levels.
