About the Author

Lindsi Jones

Lindsi Jones is an American photographer born and raised in Southern Georgia. Since childhood Lindsi has held a deep admiration and affection for cats. Always inspired by feline friends she extensively photographed her pet cats and developed aspirations to become a professional artist. After graduating from Valdosta State University with a bachelor's degree in Fine Art Education, Lindsi began working as a wedding and portrait photographer and traveled North America building an award-winning photography business. Hundreds of weddings and thousands of portraits later, she wanted to find a way to give back to the world and local community by forming a partnership with local feline rescue group, Miss Kitty Feline Sanctuary in Thomasville, Georgia. Each time Lindsi photographs a wedding she donates to the shelter on behalf of the happy couple. In addition to monetary donations Lindsi spends volunteer time getting to know the cats in the shelter and taking photographs which help with adoptions. In 2015 she began a unique portrait project titled 101 CATS IN BOW TIES which resulted in an installation style art exhibition featuring portraits of high fashion felines dressed up in bow ties which she handmade exclusively for the project. Lindsi has continued the Cats in Bowties project and now works with many shelters to highlight adoptable felines and create exceptional portraits which are used in social media and other advertisements that aide adoption efforts and celebrate cats worldwide. Her work with shelter animals has been featured on television, in numerous online publications, in newspapers, in magazines, and in advertisements.
