About the Author

Christine Mann

I have always enjoyed making things with my hands. When I was quite small, my mother taught me how to sew with a hand needle and thread. I still have a pillowcase I hand embroidered when I was eight or nine. I made a few aprons, skirts, and dresses on my mother's old Elna sewing machine, but I didn't start quilting until much later, when I was a stay-at-home mom with a new baby and a desperate need for a creative outlet. I had always loved quilting fabric and all its beautiful colors and prints, so I bought a sewing machine on impulse and made my first quilt. A few years and quite a few quilts later, I went to work as a writer for a major quilting and crafts publisher, then started a quilting blog called NewQuilters.com. I have been writing about quilting ever since. I invite you to visit my blog and follow New Quilters on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. I love to answer questions and help solve quilting problems. You can always email me with questions or comments at info@newquilters.com. Happy quilting!
