About this item

Detectives try to save lives and protect the community and themselves. We all saw the video of the Chicago cop who shot the kid sixteen time while his colleagues stood and watched. What would happen if Detectives Paul Turner and Buck Fenwick in a similar scenario showed up ten seconds before the firing started. In Mark Zubro's twelfth book in his Paul Turner, gay police detective series, they'd do the right thing and put a stop to it. But that would only be the beginning of the intrigue, danger, and death that surrounds them in a ring of silence as they try to solve a mystery and do the right thing for themselves, their families, their colleagues, the community, and the rule of law.

I also wrote a thriller, Foolproof, with two other mystery writers, Jeanne Dams and Barb D'Amato. I taught eighth graders English and reading for thirty-four years and was president of the teachers' union in my district from 1985 until 2006. I retired from teaching in 2006 and now spend my time reading, writing, napping, and eating chocolate. My newest book, Another Dead Republican, is my thirteenth book in the Tom and Scott series which features as main characters, a gay school teacher and his lover, a professional baseball player. One of the keys in my mysteries is you do not want to be a person who is racist, sexist, homophobic, or a school administrator. If you are any of those, it is likely you are the corpse, or, at the least, it can be fairly well guaranteed that bad things will happen to you by the end. And if in my books you happen to be a Republican and/or against workers' rights, it would be far better if you did not make a habit of broadcasting this. If you did, you're quite likely to be a suspect, or worse.Biographical data for Mark Richard ZubroAuthor of thirty-six booksCurrent title:Always - May 2018Winner of Lambda Literary Award - Best Gay Men's MysteryA Simple Suburban Murder - 19899 times nominated for the Lambda Literary Award - Best Gay Men's MysteryRing of Silence - 2018Pawn of Satan - 2014Dead Egotistical Morons - 2003Sex and Murder.Com - 2001Drop Dead - 1999Another Dead Teenager - 1995 Sorry Now? - 1991Why Isn't Becky Twitchell Dead? - 1990A Simple Suburban Murder - 1989Education:Notre Dame High School, Riverside, CA - graduated 1966St. Louis University, St. Louis, MO - BA in English 1970Governors State University, University Park, IL - MAin Urban Teacher Education - 1976Retired:School teacher - June 2006 - after 34 yearsUnion president - May 2006 - after being in office 20 yearsOther interests:The works of J.R.R.
