Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Lebawit Lily Girma was nine months old when she first boarded a plane with her parents, moving from Ethiopia to the West African, French-speaking country of Côte d'Ivoire. She has loved travel ever since, immersing in cultures, picking up languages-she speaks four fluently, including Spanish and French-and studying on several continents, including Africa, Europe and the Americas. In 2009, Lily left behind her prestigious law firm career and launched one in travel photography, followed by writing, focusing on culture, adventure, and sustainable travel.
