The second book in the "I Wish" series holds a significant meaning to me as a father and as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has counseled many children over the years. With society today at war with itself, children are left confused as to the role they play and unfortunately, many are left with misguided messages steering their way. You can turn on the news or Facebook and see young children holding signs of hatred, burning flags, and an overall lack of respect for society. I know the effects of this animosity on our children, as it trickles down to their everyday living, leaving them hostile and uncertain as they mature to adulthood. "I Wish Colors Were Blind" tackles the direct effects of racism and despite the many advances we have made in the past 50 years, we still have issues to address regardless of your individual world view.
