About the Author
Flora Waycott is an illustrator and artist from the South of England, currently residing in Sydney, Australia. Her charming style comes from a love of the natural world, folk art, childhood memories and everyday objects; from the contents of her kitchen cupboard to travel and adventure in faraway places.
At the age of six, Flora moved to Japan with her Japanese mother and English father where she lived for five years, making origami in the break times at school and swapping stickers and stationery with friends. Her love of drawing, painting and making began during this time, as she observed day to day Japanese life, patterns, shapes and attention to detail in the smallest things. This still influences her work today.
After returning to the UK, Flora studied Textile Design and worked as a textile designer in London before travelling to the other side of the world, living in New Zealand and now in Australia where she works as a freelance illustrator for clients around the globe. Her work has appeared on book covers, colouring books, children's decor, stationery, greeting cards, gift items and more.
