Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, she started her career as the food editor of The Oakland Tribune. Five years later she moved to Portland and joined the staff at The Oregonian. She was also the senior editor at Imbibe Magazine; editor of MIX Magazine, Portland's premier magazine of food and drink; and editor of Eater Portland.Her articles and recipes have been featured in regional and national publications including EatingWell, Better Homes and Gardens, Bon Appetit, Modern Farmer, Seattle Magazine, and Portland Monthly, among others.
