About the Author

Monica Wiedel-Lubinski

From mud paint to deer tracks, Wiedel-Lubinski has pursued her love of nature-based education for over twenty years. As founder/cofounder of three Maryland nature preschool programs and a consultant to countless others, she is an experienced advocate for nature-based education. Wiedel-Lubinski is the founding director of the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools, which provides nature-based professional development for teachers and childcare providers across the East coast (ERAFANS.org) . She is a frequent contributor to written publications including books, blogs, magazines, and journals. She recently published a chapter for STEM In Early Childhood Education: How Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Strengthen Learning with emphasis on the role of outdoor learning (Cohen and Stupiansky, 2019) . She is delighted to share Nature Play Workshop for Families: A Guide to 40 Outdoor Learning Experiences in All Seasons, co-authored by Karen Madigan (Quarto Publishers: 2020) . Monica earned a Bachelor's degree in Art Education and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland.
