Lebawit Lily Girma is an award-winning travel writer and photographer specializing in the Caribbean region and whose work has appeared in major travel publications, including Delta Sky Magazine, CNN Travel, New York Magazine, BBC Travel, Sunday Times Travel Magazine, MorningCalm Magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray, The Travel Channel, AFAR, New York Times Magazine, International Living Magazine, and American Way, among others. Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Lebawit Lily Girma was nine months old when she first boarded a plane with her parents, moving from Ethiopia to the West African, French-speaking country of Côte d'Ivoire. She has loved travel ever since, immersing in cultures, picking up languages-she speaks four fluently, including Spanish and French-and studying on several continents, including Africa, Europe and the Americas. In 2009, Lily left behind her prestigious law firm career and launched one in travel photography, followed by writing, focusing on culture, adventure, and sustainable travel. She has explored the Caribbean region solo since 2005, becoming an expert in Jamaica, DR, and Belize, among other destinations.
